Winemaker John Simes says the Naramata Vineyard is some of the most amazing landscape in the BC interior. He's extremely proud to be able to add it to the winery's estate holdings. The 646-acre parcel of land currently has about 100 acres under vine. Simes believes it will take years to realize the full potential of the property.
The Naramata Vineyard's proximity of Lake Okanagan provides an extreme moderating effect, allowing for an extended ripening period through to the end of October. Because of the slightly cooler temperatures in the Naramata area, compared to those in the south where the majority of the vineyards are located, this site is especailly well suited to white varietals.
